Bio
I'm a Scottish-Peruvian contemporary artist based in Malaga and Madrid, having recently moved from London. My practice explores nature and society, politics and current events, art history, and emotions. Although I start each piece with a specific idea or feeling in mind, I often prefer being led by the process of painting rather than forcing my work in a specific direction. I´ve also embraced figuration, frequently combining it with abstraction..
Passionate about art from and early age, my childhood was filled with museum visits throughout Europe and the US, and despite the fact I hold a BA in International Business, I took painting and drawing courses at university in Florida. Following time in both London and Germany, I gained an MA in Graphic Design and Corporate Communications in Madrid.
Over a decade later, having worked in both graphic/editorial design and journalism, I decided to return to my one true passion: art. I started painting in my spare time once again and quit my job in journalism in 2011 to get an MA in Contemporary Art at Sotheby's Institute of Art, London.
Since 2012 I've immersed myself in the art world - managing art galleries, leading diverse art marketing and PR campaigns, attending art events, founding a website exploring international contemporary art, as well as focusing on my own artwork. In late January 2020 I launched this website to showcase my paintings and reach a wider audience.
My work has been purchased by collectors in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, South America and Asia. I´m also available for commissions.
